Providing rigid bearing arrangements, INA cylindrical roller thrust bearings can accommodate high axial loads and shock loads without problems but no radial loads. They have no self-aligning capability. INA cylindrical roller thrust bearings can be separated into thrust cylindrical roller and cage assembly, shaft washer and housing washer
INA cylindrical roller thrust bearings have moulded cages of glass fibre reinforced polyamide (short for TVPB), machined cages of light metal (short for LPB) or brass (short for MPB, MB). The cage is guided on the shaft. However they have no alignment, I,e. the mating surfaces of the bearing washers must be parallel.
In addition, in order to prevent slippage between rollers and bearing washers, INA cylindrical roller thrust bearings must always be loaded axially. If the external load is too low the bearing must be preloaded, e.g. with springs. Meanwhile, they have very high axial laods, however, no radial loads and the speed suitability of them is low.
